As the founder of Links Fore Leukemia, Inc., I am committed to raising awareness and funds to combat blood cancers, a cause that has profoundly impacted my own life. If you missed this year’s golf outing, PLEASE join us for our annual event on October 15, 2026.
Links Fore Leukemia is a non-profit organization dedicated to monetizing awareness of blood cancers through philanthropy. In partnership with Blood Cancer United, our mission is to engage the golf community, both locally and nationally, to raise money for research, advocacy, and to help families offset the substantial costs of treatment. Locally, we are proud to also support East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Throughout the year, Island Pointe GC will host various events to support this mission, including our annual Links Fore Leukemia Golf Event in October, Night Golf in the Spring and Summer, and the sales of Links Fore Leukemia golf balls and apparel.
Your support is crucial to making our mission a reality. I am personally striving to raise $10,000 in individual donations by November 15, 2025, and I sincerely ask you to consider donating today.
I founded Links Fore Leukemia while actively undergoing treatment for TP53-mutated Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. My specific diagnosis includes “blastoid morphology,” which makes the disease even more aggressive and less responsive to standard treatments. There is currently no cure or a standard path for treatment.
As the owner for the past 16 years, Island Pointe Golf Club has been a special place for me, not just for the course but for the incredible community it fosters. This community has been a source of strength, especially as I navigate my own battle with cancer.
I am currently traveling to Boston to receive care at Massachusetts General Hospital, in partnership with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, participating in a clinical trial that utilizes targeted therapy and immunotherapy. These innovative approaches offer a greater chance than traditional chemotherapy. While I have a long road ahead, I am not alone; too many stories like mine highlight the critical need for more available therapies.
This journey has revealed significant gaps in care, the overwhelming needs of patients and families, and the immense power of hope that comes from research, support, and community. Cancer indiscriminately affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, and research for blood cancers is severely underfunded.
If you are considering a donation, you likely understand the challenge of facing a disease that attempts to steal one’s time, energy, and peace of mind, either personally or through a loved one. Links Fore Leukemia is my way of giving back and fighting—not just for myself, but for every individual who hears the word “cancer” and finds the courage to persevere.
Together, we can make a difference. For me, for the next patient, and for a future where blood cancers no longer exist.
